Joel was born to litigate. At an early age he remembers standing up for the little guy even though it was not a popular position. Joel brings to his practice of representing his clients the same tenacious attitude. Joel understands how important it is to listen to his clients and have a complete understanding of their goals in order to effectively present their claims. Joel graduated from the University of Dallas in 1987 with a B.A. in History. He received his Juris Doctorate Degree from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in 1992. He was admitted to the Northern District of Illinois in 1995. The Northern District of Indiana September 2010. He commenced his legal career doing work as a plaintiff's attorney until joining a small insurance defense boutique firm in 1998. Having litigated plaintiff's personal injuries, he brings an additional perspective to the handling of defense claims. Joel has in excess of 100 jury verdicts. He has taken hundreds of expert's depositions, hundreds of parties depositions and conducted in excess of 100 arbitration hearings. He has been admitted to the Federal Trial Bar and United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit and is a member of the DuPage County and Illinois State Bar Associations. In addition to his defense practice Joel successfully prosecutes severely injured Plaintiff's in Personal Injury cases throughout the Chicago land area. His practice is extremely diverse including clients in personal injury, slip and fall, medical malpractice, bankruptcy chapter 7 and 13, residential and commercial real estate, buy/sell of businesses, social security disability, workers compensation, divorce and estate planning, probate. Having represented hundreds of clients over 28 years in practice Joel has a special relationship with his clients that enables him to work with them to achieve their results. Many of Joel's former clients he has developed a life long relationship with.
